Project Description:

The purpose of the proposed project titled, “Retooling Middle School Science through Technology”, is to implement a research-based professional development training model to 60 middle school science teachers from (7) high-need school districts in Region One which extends from Port Isabel-Los Fresnos-Brownsville in the east, to Laredo in its western reaches. Through this project teachers will participate in explorative classroom and field activities extended by interactive online activities to increase earth, space, and environmental science content and pedagogical knowledge. In addition, the content trainings will provide lab and field activities to promote both knowledge and skills and the process skills that are predominantly weak in the middle school.
