The College of Education at The University of Texas at Brownsville is committed to excellence in our programs of studies, research and services. We have high quality standards in all Education programs and we are searching for expanding our academic offerings and research productivity.
UTB/TSC is a member of The University of Texas System. UTB/TSC is also a partnership institution between its upper level component The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) and its lower level component Texas Southmost College (TSC). UTB/TSC forms a single institution with seamless transition for students. UTB/TSC offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 2007, SACS approved UTB/TSC for our doctoral degree—Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
In addition, for maintaining our high quality standards we are seeking national accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The teacher preparation programs have the academic collaboration of UTB/TSC Departments of Fine Arts, English and Communications, Modern Languages, History, Biology, Computer Science, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and Allied Health.
