Benchmark, Tutorials & TExES Exams:
Students are encouraged to take the Benchmark exams beginning their sophomore year. The benchmark exams are practice exams that are designed to prepare students to take the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) exams. Below are the clearence procedures for Benchmarks and TExES Exams:
Once you have clear admission to the Teacher Education Program and enrolled in EDCI 3314, you are eligible to benchmark (optional) and/or register for the TExES content exam (EC-6 Bilingual or ESL Generalist). Any other majors must check with their specific department.
Once you enroll in EPSY 4322-Human Development and EDCI/EDSC/EDMG 4324, you are eligible to benchmark (optional) and/or register for the TExES Pedagogy & Professional Responsibilities (PPR) exam.
FEES: Benchmark Exams – No Fee
TExES Exams - $120.00 each (contact the Texas Workforce Center in your area for available grants)
