Dear Prospective Doctoral Student:
Thank you for your interest in our program. This is an exciting time to be involved in higher education. The continued growth in South Texas increases the need for educators with advanced degrees in the years ahead. We look forward to working with you to meet your professional growth and development goals.
The University of Texas at Brownsville is now accepting applications for admission into the program for the Doctor in Education (Ed. D. Degree) in Curriculum & Instruction. In Fall of 2013 we plan to offer the degree with specializations in Early Childhood, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, and Higher Education Teaching.
The Application Booklet which includes the Doctoral Admissions Application, are now available for applying to the program. Complete applications must be received prior to 5:00 pm on April 1, 2013 at the Office of Graduate Studies in order to be considered for the cohort that is scheduled to begin fall semester 2013. Applications received after April 1, 2013 will be reviewed for admission to the 2014 cohort.
Faculty Selection Committees from the College of Education Departments of Teaching, Learning and Innovation; Language, Literacy, and Intercultural Studies; and Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies will review all complete applications. All applicants will be notified of their selection status on June 1, 2013. Final candidates will be invited for an interview and writing of a reaction paper on campus.
