application procedure

1. Complete the official application form (front side)
2. Attach an up-to-date UTB transcript. Have official transcripts for college coursework from other institutions which do not appear on the UTB transcript sent to the Office of Admissions, UTB 80 Fort Brown, Brownsville, TX 78520
3. Attach a copy of current program of study
4. Attach a copy of completed Admission Checklist
5. Attach copies of test scores (TASP, THEA,and COMPASS)
6. Submit all materials to the Field Experience Office.
7. Students will be mailed a notice of their admission status.

It should be understood that approval of an applicant for admission into Teacher Education does not Grant permission to enroll in directed teaching, does not indicate that you have met requirements for Graduation, and does not constitute a recommendation for a certificate to teach.

Such recommendation is contingent upon demonstration of success as a prospective teacher and Completion of all certification requirements.

Students denied admission may, after successful completion of additional hours at UTB, file a second Application at which time he/she may be asked to appear personally before the Teacher Education Committee.

Please allow a minimum of ten working days to process this application.
