Abstract: The Real-time Transport Protocol is a transmission protocol used in networks. RTP was designed to carry the transmission of media files such as audio and video files from one point to another using packet technology. Despite the vast usage of RTP, there is no mechanism to ensure quality of service (QoS) such timely delivery of data. Further, there is not guarantee to prevent the transfer of packets out of order.  This talk will present an adaptive streaming mechanism to guarantee the delivery of packets from one end to another.

Javier Nieto received his B.S in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Brownsville. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at UTB as well.
Mr. Nieto’s research interests are in the networking field and he is conducting his research under the direction of Dr. Mahmoud K. Quweider, Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
