The next college seminar will be a presentation with Dr. Hansheng Lei, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences, with a lecture titled “Automated Optical Inspection (AOI).”
AOI is an automated visual inspection of a wide range of industrial products, e.g., printed circuit boards (PCBs), LCDs, automotive parts, lids and labels on product packages, etc. A fully functional prototype of AOI system has been built by a research group led by the presenter, thanks to the support from the Rusteberg Faculty Fellowship and the HEAF funds. The presentation will introduce the innovative design of the system and the cutting-edge technology in image processing, computer vision and pattern recognition. The project is implemented mainly using Labview, a graphic programming language. Thus, students who use Labview can also benefit from this talk.
Faculty and students are invited to attend.
