Transferring Credits
Procedures and Advising
Students should contact as soon as possible the Office of Admissions in order to get credit for courses taken at other institutions. In case of clarification, the CIS Department Advisors can be contacted in order to identify the correct credit and equivalent course at UTB-TSC.
Important Notice. Degrees at UTB may have residence requirements and limitations on the type and number of credits and courses being transferred. These requirements and regulations can be found in the latest catalog.
Transferring Tech Prep Courses
Tech Prep courses are taken at high schools having articulation agreements with UTB-TSC. Transference of Tech Prep credits may not be automatic; students should contact the Office of Admissions in order to claim credit for Tech Prep courses. For more information about Tech Prep courses see:
Transferring Dual Enrollment Courses
Dual enrollment (also known as dual enrollment or concurrent enrollment) courses receive credit simultaneously at UTB-TSC and high schools having dual articulation agreements with UTB-TSC. Dual courses are transferred automatically at UTB-TSC. More information about dual courses:
Transferring Technical Courses
Technical courses in Texas may be transferable to UTB-TSC if they are listed in the WECM. Students may request the transference to the Office of Admissions.
If a technical course is not listed as WECM then see the Course Equivalence table or contact the CIS Department Advisors.
Transferring University Courses
Academic courses at other universities in Texas may be transferred to UTB-TSC if the courses are listed in the ACGM. In addition, students may transfer their entire general education core if it has been completed at other public academic institution.
