Area of Specialty and REsponsibility:
Mr. de la Cruz's area of specialty and interest is Algebra specifically in Association Schemes. He teaches full load, mostly general mathematic education courses, and he advises ten mathematic majors. In order to teach courses in a redesigned format, he must continue training in new technology and pedagogy. He will continue to make himself available, not only to his students and advisees, to answer questions and resolve concerns but to any student who seeks advice..
In summer 2007, Mr. de la Cruz worked as an Algebra Instructor in the Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP), a component of PREP-USA, which provides a challenging academic program designed to motivate and prepare middle and high school students for success in advanced studies leading to careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields.
He previously worked as an ESL Teacher in Tamaulipas, MEX in Santos D. Siller Elementary School which in addition to teach from 4th – 6th grade, he obtained a Diploma in Certification and Teacher Training for Elementary Schools.
