Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA)​​

The PPOHA is to attract Hispanic students to UTB's mathematics and computer science graduate programs and provide these students with the support they need to complete their degrees.

Major Research Instrumentation (MRI)​

The National Science Foundation has awarded a Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) grant to the University of Texas at Brownsville's School of Engineering and Computer Science.  The grant titled,MRI: Acquisition of Micro Particle Image Velocimetry (micro-PIV) System for Microfluidics and Biomedical Applications, will be executed under the supervision of Dr. Nazmul Islam, an assistant professor in Electrical Engineering. The other investigators of the grant are Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Yingchen Yang, Dr. Davood Askari, and Dr Constantin Ciocanel. Award amount of the grant ($173,274) will be used to acquire equipments and hire student researchers.
