Creating Innovation trough eLearning on iPads
As we continue on out path to UTB 2.0 we look to UTB faculty to learn how we can make education affordable and better with the strategic use of technology.
Where we are on the Apple RFP's
Funding is in, projects have been identified and the iPads are starting to appear on campus. Twenty faculty have projects to use iPads with their students to improve student learning and connections with faculty and their peers. Under the leadership of Janna Arney and with the assistance of the Center for Teaching and Learning and IT, faculty will be planning on how to implement their projects in the Fall. What we intend to accomplish this semester is to assist faculty to begin using iPads with students, establish processes and procedures for managing student and faculty tablets and collect and analyze data to understand the benefits, real costs and effectiveness.
The projects will provide a campus wide perspective of what one-on-one tablet computing can do to improve student learning on campus. The Apple RFP resulted in were many proposals that were as equally as interesting and innovative but funding was limited. As the project continues, we will
keep faculty informed as more opportunities arise to bring more innovation to teaching.
