Greatly enhanced managing skills and capacity
Graduates of the IPS CPM program will be provided with the tools, skills and knowledge to become first quality public managers.  Course materials include permanently useful “Tool Kits”, which are reference guides for many of the course topics and concentrations and particularly useful in application of this learning for on-the-job challenges and situations. The IPS CPM Alumni Network, which provides continuous professional contact among peers for mutual support, advice, and other cooperative assistance, is only one part of the continuing program offerings tailored for our CPM program graduates.

Authorization to use CPM as a professional designation:
Graduates of the IPS CPM program may add the professional designation “CPM” to their signatures, such as Antonio Fox, CPM.

Graduates are eligible for membership in the Texas State Society of Certified Public Managers, including a one year membership in the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).

Personalized Skill Assessment
Participants in the IPS CPM program will be provided an individual skills assessment and an enhancement plan to relieve any weaknesses that might interfere with the participant’s productivity or advancement. This includes communications, writing, public speaking, calculating, computer use, and others.

Continuing Professional Education
The CPM program has been approved for continuing education credit by the County Commissioners Education Committee as mandated by the Texas State Legislature. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLOSE), the Texas State Board of Accountancy and The County Treasurers’ Association has also endorsed the CPM Program for continuing education credits.
