Supplemental Instruction (SI) offers weekly review sessions for students enrolled in historically difficult courses. These sessions, facilitated by trained SI Leaders, are opportunities for you to get together with students in your class to organize your material, compare notes, discuss important concepts, develop strategies for studying the subject, and be well prepared for taking your tests and exams.

Students who attend SI regularly outperform students those who do not attend SI sessions by an average of half a grade point to a full grade point.

In fall 2010, students who attended at least one SI session earned an average final grade point of 2.64.  Students who attended five or more SI sessions earned an average final grade point of 3.03.  Students who did not attend any SI sessions earned an average final grade point of 1.91.

Students who attend SI sessions regularly are also less likely to earn a grade of D, F or withdraw from the course thant those who do not attend SI sessions.

In fall 2010, 16.47% of students who attended at least one SI session earned a D, F or withdrew from their SI targeted course.  6.02% of students who attended five or more SI sessions eanred a D, F or withdrew from their SI targeted course.  38.24% of students who did not attend an SI session earned a D, F or withdrew.

As you can see, going to SI sessions will help you earn better grades.  We look forward to seeing you in SI sessions.
