By the end of the program, the RN student will have been given the opportunity to:

  1. Provide competent holistic nursing care to individuals, families, populations and communities in the context of various socio-cultural environments, available resources, and technology.
  2. Use critical thinking and apply theories, principles, values and concepts in making clinical judgments about the health care needs of individuals, families and communities. 
  3. Provide and direct care to address complex and unpredictable health care needs of individuals, families and communities.​
  4. Collaborate and communicate with members of the healthcare team, agency personnel, patients and family in the planning, implementation and evaluation of health care in structured and unstructured settings.
  5. Practice as a competent holistic nursing provider of patient-centered care within the framework of safe, legal, ethical, moral and professional standards.
  6. Use research findings and other evidence in designing and implementing care that is multi-dimensional, high quality, and cost effective.​
  7. Provide competent leadership within the nursing profession, in health affairs and patient advocacy.
  8. Develop a lifetime commitment to intellectual inquiry, self-directed learning and professional growth.​
