The poems in this fascinating collection take in the two prominent subject areas of friendship and acts of creativity such as writing, painting and dancing. Despite this common ground among the works in the volume, author Chip Dameron said the poems were written over a number of years and developed poem by poem. Outstanding works in the volume include the sequence titled “A Picasso Montage” and the group of poems titled “To a Generation of Friends.”

“Night Spiders, Morning Milk, Definition of Hours” draws on the experience of growing up in Texas to give vent to the creative impulses of three poets.

“But the poetry is not limited to thoughts about Texas,” said co-author Chip Dameron, whose contribution to the volume includes such exotica as “Gauguin in Eden: Koke at Mataiea” and “Along Boca Chica Beach.” Dameron said some of the verses in the volume are the result of sudden bursts of “playing” with language.
