My name is Dulce Esmeralda Rios, and I am 19 years old. I graduated from the Brownsville Early College High School this past June and I’m currently a Junior in the University. I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a teacher certification trough the U-Teach program. My long term goal is to obtain a Master’s Degree in counseling and one day be a Middle School or a High School counselor. I am a mentor for Title V STEM learning communities, I love working with people and it would be my pleasure to help students cope with their transition into college. I’m excited as we begin the journey through every semester and hope to make the best out of each and every one of them.


My name is Karla Lopez and I am currently a junior pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. I graduated last spring from the Brownsville Early College High School with my high school diploma as well as an A.A in General Arts from the Univeristy of Texas at Brownsville.I currently volunteer as a mentor for the incoming BECHS juniors.I like to spend time in the university learning form the professors. I also like to spend time with my friends, go to church, and go do outdoors activities. My passion is helping out, and someday in the future be an extraordinary Obstetrician Gynecologist.
