First Year Advising

First year students will personally know their first year advisor through the First Year Seminar course. Your advisor will attend your class with you and will share important information about how to travel through to your degree. Your advisor can assist you in determining what you want to study and what you would like to do for your career. Do not hesitate to contact your First Year Advisor when you have questions or need to locate resources or assistance.

Learning Support

Students may visit the Student Learning Support areas across campus. Check out the assistance in Mary Rose Cardenas Hall North and the assistance labs in Oliveira and ITEC. If you need additional assistance, please ask your First Year Advisor how to locate resources. University College is committed to your success.

Developmental Studies

The mission Developmental Studies is to assist in students' cognitive and affective development in order to help them attain their academic and professional goals and to promote lifelong learning.

The Office of Developmental Studies operates under University College and includes courses in Writing, Reading, and Mathematics and provides other academic support. The office is located on the second floor of the Arnulfo L. Oliveira Memorial Library.
