Holiday Leave. Paid holiday leave is provided to employees who are appointed to work at least 20 hours per week for a period of at least four and one-half continuous months.  Employees appointed less than full-time but at least 20 hours per week are eligible for holiday leave proportionate to the number of hours appointed.

Skeleton Crew Required. Offices must remain open and sufficiently staffed to conduct official business.

Holiday Compensatory Time. Employees who work on a holiday will receive equivalent time off within the 12-month period following the holiday worked.

Optional Holidays. With prior approval by appropriate supervisor, an employee may observe Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Cesar Chavez Day and Good Friday as optional holidays. A holiday pay-eligible employee may observe optional holidays by working on any holiday in which skeleton crew is required or by using applicable accrued leave.


Monday through Friday............................. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

One hour is scheduled for lunch Monday through Friday. Offices may be open in addition to the times listed above and employees may be scheduled to work during the expanded office hours.

This employee calendar is the approved work schedule, and will be used as the basis for division, department, and office scheduling from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Human Resources at 956-882-8205.
