The texas center for border and transnational studies

U.S.-Mexico Border

A Center of excellence at UTB

The center endeavors to promote awareness of and scholarship on border-related issues. A substantial emphasis of our mission concerns the promotion of undergraduate and graduate studies in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Tamaulipas, Mexico regions. The center also exists to encourage grant opportunities and support scholarly and cultural events relevant to border issues. Additionally, the center seeks to sponsor outreach activities with local communities and schools for events related to border studies on the UTB campus. Lastly, the center promotes engagement and interaction between the campus community and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to promote an understanding about border security and safety.
