UTB All-Region Band Clinic, Saturday, September 14, 2013, UTB Campus (FREE!)

The UTB Department of Music’s annual All-Region Clinic for all band instruments will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 on the UTB campus. Join UTB’s music faculty for individual etude clinics and participatory master classes on all band instruments. Two sessions, TMEA 5A/4A (9:000 a.m.-11:00 a.m.) and ATSSB (11:30-1:00 p.m.), will be offered. This event is FREE and all are welcome to attend.

Patron of the Arts 2013-2014 Season

We hope that you will join us for the 29th season of the UTB Patron of the Arts Series in 2013-14! Since its inception, the Patron of the Arts Series has brought world-class guest artists to our community for memorable and inspiring musical experiences.

Highlights of our upcoming season include internationally renowned guest artists:

  • Margaret Lattimore, mezzo soprano from the Metropolitan Opera
  • Horszowski Trio in two performances, including Beethoven’s Triple Concerto performed with the UTB Symphony Orchestra
  • William Kanengiser, guitarist from the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet
  • Atlantic Brass Quintet from Boston
  • Marianne Gedigian and Nathan Williams, flutist and clarinetist from the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music
  • Mark Ford, percussionist from the University of North Texas

The 2014 Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition runs from March 27 through the 29th. Three days of concerts, clinics, and master classes, plus the only national guitar ensemble competition.

The 2014 Brownsville Flute Festival will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014. The festival will feature a guest artist master class and recital by University of Texas at Austin flute professor, Marianne Gedigian, along with a full roster of participatory events for flutists of all ages including clinics, performances, and flute choir reading sessions. The event will be held in conjunction with the 2014 UTB Clarinet Festival.

The 2014 UTB Clarinet Festival will be held on April 12, 2014. The festival will feature guest artist master class and recital by University of Texas at Austin clarinet professor, Nathan Williams along with additional workshops, master classes and performances. The event will be held in conjunction with the 2014 Brownsville Flute Festival.

The 2013 Brownsville Merry Tuba Christmas concert is scheduled for Sunday, December 15, 2013.
