Sandra Musanti, Ph.D.

Teaching Interest:

Dr. Musanti teaches undergraduate courses in the EC-6 bilingual and ESL teacher preparation program, and graduate level courses in the Master’s in Bilingual Education program, and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her teaching interests include bilingual education, sociocultural and language issues in education, qualitative research methodologies, and mentoring and professional development in teacher education.

Areas of research interest and publications: Teacher preparation and professional development for teachers of linguistically and culturally diverse students. The impact of classroom-based professional development and teacher collaboration in the ESL and bilingual teaching practices. Issues of equity, language and culture and mathematics teaching in primary grades.

Dr. Musanti serves as the coordinator of the bilingual studies specialization for the Ed. D. in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, she currently serves as the chair elect for the Bilingual Interest Section of TESOL International Association.
